THEATER 3 SHAPES

DESCRIPTION

The theater,

anatomical scaffolding,

black box with a hole in one side,

geometries,

mainframe computer,

an accumulation of moving parts.

Walls, ceiling grids, and floors are components of a functional apparatus

designed to reset and reconfigure.

No human operator is visible in the photographs.

The Modular Theater is organized through shifting spatial parameters and components

moving along coordinate axes.

This early work establishes a logic that was later developed through movement research,

mapping changes in the body’s mass,

orientation,

internal organization,

and position through space.

Computational

logic

organizes physical transformation through

shape grammar.
